A Taste of Maldivian Cuisine: Mas Huni, Garudhiya, and Maldivian Curries

On my trip to the Maldives, I was eager to explore its food culture. I had heard about Mas Huni, Garudhiya, and Maldivian curries, but nothing prepared me for how much I would enjoy them. I started my morning with Mas Huni, a traditional breakfast made from tuna, coconut, onion, and chili, served with warm roshi (flatbread). Sitting at a beachside cafĂ©, I took my first bite. The freshness of the tuna mixed with the sweetness of the coconut and the kick of chili was a delightful combination. I enjoyed every bite, watching the waves gently roll onto the shore. A cup of hot black tea completed the experience, making it the perfect start to my day. For lunch, I decided to try Garudhiya, a fragrant Maldivian fish soup.
